Meet Our Gals!

Fluffy & Chick
Fluffy and Chick are Speckled Sussex from our original flock, bought as chicks in August 2023. They lay light brown eggs.

Cris & Pea
Cris & Pea are Lavender Orpingtons. They are part of our original flock. We bought them as chicks in August 2023. They lay light brown eggs.

Red & Sunny
Red is our only Rhode Island Red hen left from our original flock. She was bought as a chick in August 2023. Her sister was our first hen to be lost to a predator in May 2024.

Marshie
Marshie is a Silver Leghorn. When we bought her in August 2023, we didn't know enough about chickens to know that there was a difference between white leghorns and silver leghorns. We assumed she would be our only white hen so the boys decided to call her Marshmallow (Marshie for short!). The name stuck even as her coloring turned out true to that of a silver leghorn. She is the mother of our current rooster, Marshall. She lays a white eggs.

Marshall
Marshall is our second rooster. We incubated him from egg in August of 2024. He is the son of our first rooster, Nugget, who was a Rhode Island Red and one of our original hens, Marshie, who is a Silver Leghorn.

Chifi
Chifi was incubated in August 2024. We believe that her mother was one of our Speckled Sussex hens. Her father was Nugget, a Rhode Island Red Rooster. Chifi is our most curious and human friendly hen. She lays a light brown eggs.

Black Beauty
Black Beauty is one of our incubated hens. She was born in August 2024. We believe her mother was one of our Lavender Orpingtons. Her father was Nugget, our Rhode Island Red rooster. She lays brown eggs.

Princess & Princessa
This is one of our two 'princesses' incubated in August 2024. Their father is a Rhode Island Red rooster, named Nugget. We thought that their mother was also a Rhode Island Red hen, but their eggs are shiny light brown, not the same brown as our Rhode Island hens. So we call them our princesses since they are likely mixed with something else.

Goldie
Goldie is a Buff Orpington. Unfortunately, her sister Locks was eaten by a hawk. We bought Gold and Locks as chicks in August 2024. She lays a light brown eggs.

Trouble & Mischief
This is one of our two Ancona hens. They were bought in August 2024. Trouble & Mischief are most definitely our most flighty, loud, skittish hens. She lays small white eggs.

Snow & White
This is one of our two White Leghorn hens. Snow & White were bought in August 2024. They are regularly our most reliable layers, laying large white eggs.

Cal & Co
Meet our Calico Princesses. We bought them as chicks in August 2024. Cal & Co lay large light brown eggs.
